GLC Demi Rakyat & Negara
Aspirasi Masyarakat, Inspirasi Negara
GDRN was first established as The Government-Linked Companies (GLC) and Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLIC) Disaster Response Network (GDRN) to work with different partners. This is part of the efforts to coordinate humanitarian aid from various GLC and GLIC partners for those in need who were gravely affected by natural disasters as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
About Us
Who We Are
The GDRN was created in 2013 through the Putrajaya Committee for GLC High Performance (“PCG”) with Khazanah Nasional Berhad as its Secretariat. The network was successfully deployed between 2013 and 2016 where various relief and reconstruction work was undertaken, particularly during big flooding incidents namely in Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu, Pulau Pinang, Sabah, Sarawak, Melaka dan Johor.
Understanding the need for deploying more assistance to those in need, GDRN was reintroduced as GLC Demi Rakyat dan Negara (GDRN) in hopes of assisting more B40 individuals and those in need. The reintroduction allowed the network to widen its scope from focusing only on humanitarian efforts to now focusing on knowledge and the well-being of life. GDRN since then has spearheaded corporate social responsibility efforts in a consistent manner to benefit its recipients.

Our Purpose
In March 2022, with the reintroduction, GDRN is focusing its efforts via three main cores. Guided by these three cores namely Jalinan Ilmu, Jalinan Kemanusiaan, and Jalinan Sejahtera, GDRN is now focused on realising its primary goal of coordinating humanitarian aid from GLC and GLIC to communities affected by natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Joint-Secretariat

GDRN is led by Yayasan Hasanah (Hasanah), the foundation of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Yayasan Telekom Malaysia (YTM). The secretariat is responsible for:
- Leading committee meetings
- Streamlining strategies and executing data collection
- Planning and executing GDRN-related communication
- Streamlining efforts with relevant stakeholders
Staying committed to our aspiration of “Aspirasi Masyarakat, Inspirasi Negara”, we work with a wide range of partners to streamline and coordinate our efforts
- Government Link Companies (GLC)
- Government Link Investment Companies (GLIC)
- Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)

Today, Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD), in collaboration with simedarbyplantation (SDP) Southern Region and Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) Negeri Johor continued to provide more flood relief aid - 1,100 pillows to 4 temporary shelters (PPS) in Kluang including Pusat Latihan Jabatan Kebajikan Orang Asli (JAKOA), and food aid to Kg Palembang Baru and Kahang. Another 2,000 hygiene kits were also delivered to Yong Peng and SDP estates in the second phase of distribution.
Tuan Haji Mohd Ismail, Ketua Kampung Palembang Baru shared that they had last experienced floods in 2018 and this year’s flood was unusual as the water level reached almost 4 feet high. We were dismayed to see the local community members seeking for refuge to ensure their wellbeing during this difficult time.
Our special thanks goes out to JKM Kluang Officer, Encik Shazuwan; JAKOA officer, Puan Akma; SDP Regional General Manager, Tuan Safirus and his team for their support during the distribution process. We hope that the urgent aid channelled to the victims will alleviate some of the burdens caused by the floods.

With the floods happening in Johor, Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) and simedarbyplantation (SDP) Southern Region urgently distributed 1,500 food baskets to affected local communities in Segamat, Yong Peng and Kluang, as well as 780 staff and estate workers.
Today, we visited Kampung Haji Kamisan and met flood victims Puan Suhadah and Puan Rohaya. Puan Suhadah lives with her disabled father and ailing mother; while Puan Rohaya who suffers heart diseases lives with her husband who has chronic illnesses. Both these strong women shared how they overcome hardships during critical times like these, and their plans to rebuild their lives after the floods are over.
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the SDP Regional CEO Tn. Hissammudin Mohamad Sabidin and dedicated SDP volunteers for their sincere hard work on the ground, in packing and distributing the food to those most in need. Through this collaborative initiative, we aim to continue to address the immediate needs of underprivileged communities affected by the floods. Let us all pray for the flood victims` safety and wellbeing.
